Contacting ODE's Helpdesk – things to know!
There are two ways to contact the helpdesk at ODE
- Call them or
- Email them
It's important to know when to call and when to email.
If you have something
urgent (urgent means something is broken and it is stopping your work), or you'd just prefer to speak to someone on the phone, then
you should call. Emailing the helpdesk is equally effective, however the ticketing system automatically opens a ticket for you and may not be assigned as an urgent priority. This doesn't mean you will wait for days to get a response, but it might take a little longer than picking up the phone and calling. It all just depends on how busy they are at that time.
The other thing that is important to know is that ODE has 2 staff on our external helpdesk, so these folks are pretty busy sometimes, we appreciate your patience.
Email the ODE Helpdesk
- If emailing the helpdesk with an issue, please make sure you give them as much information as you can. For example, the URL or link to the application or site; the steps you took prior to the issue; any error messages you received. Screenshots are always welcome, however please make sure no confidential data or student education records are included.
